T-fender – a luxurious edition of our popular D- fender. Gives significantly better performance when transferring crew at offshore wind turbines
The new T-fender is an enhancement of the popular D-fender. The T-fender has been designed with an overlap in order to avoid direct impact between wind turbines and vessel. The more pressure inflicted on the T-fender, the more the resistance increases. Furthermore, it has a significantly better friction when berthing the turbines, in part due to a strong rubber mixture and in part due to the cross grooved pattern which quickly drains away the water. This means that the film of water which minimises the friction (aquaplaning effect) will be avoided. The assembly plates have been vulcanized to the T-fenders enabling them to be easily assembled and replaced. This also means that the durability of the fender is prolonged as a consequence of the fact that bolts and plates are moulded into the fender, thus avoiding to drill holes in the fender or that the bolt will tear the fender from inside.
